service on 2002 Mastiff

I just got my Mastiff. It is an '02 with less than 1,000 miles. I my plan was to take her to the new, local BDM dealer and make sure all the recalls were done, have them look at everything carefully, tighten it up, change fluids, etc. The bike had been sitting for a long time until the owner bought an Aston Martin and had to move it . (Lucky me) Before I go too far I wanted it all checked out, especially with such low mileage and the breakin period.

Does anyone have any observations about problems or issues w/ '02 mastiffs? Any thing I should look out for on a bike this old w/ such low miles?
So far, the only problem is a non-working tail light and a couple of loose bolts.

Jerry, you won't have much problems with that bike. Most of your parts are HD compatible. I think there was just a recall on the kickstand spring. Where in south Jersey are you? You might want to get a manual and start wrenching yourself. You'll save yourself a couple of bucks and it's a good way to get to know your bike.

I am in Burlington County. I intend to turn some wrenches, but thought I would start with a fresh look from the pros. I got the manual off of BDMs site, but that is not a service manual. I will try to get one of those. I am not so great at fixing things, but I have friends who are, and yes, I do want to get to know the Dog.
