Seat nut kit

Trying to find a seat nut kit for my Vintage Sport. I ordered one for a soft tail thinking it would work but the nut isn’t tall enough to clear the top of the fender, to secure it with the e clip. Any suggestions?

Don't know if they have "Ace Hardware Stores" in your area or not. If so, and there are anything like my local Ace store, they will have any size nut/bolt you could possibly want. I think my one bike is 85% Ace Hardware store fasteners.... JJ

I’ve thought about that, but I really want a nut that will retain in the fender when I unscrew the bolt. Any suggestions would be appreciated

One possibility might be a Jack nut threaded insert. look it up on you tube. Just a thought.

I would think about 1" dia × 3/16 thick disk of aluminum or steel .. add 1/4 - 20 threaded hole in center .

Put 1/4-20 button head bolt (sufficient length) with washer up thru fender . On top of fender -1"rubber washer then thread disk on and tighten. Leaving enough threads exposed for seat bracket and acorn nut/thumb nut.
