seat foam too hard on new mastiff?

After a 300 mile trip on my 09 Mastiff, my ass hurts. The seat curls up too much in the back and has made my tailbone ache.

Does anyone else have this complaint? Does the foam break down to the point it gets softer?

The seat is not going to get any softer. You can have gel inserts installed, polymer inserts, or Nelson at WB Cycles can get a seat done with air cells. I have heard that the gel inserts are not much of a improvement. Have talked to people that have had the polymer inserts with memory foam installed and they said it was a lot softer. The air cells I don't know about, but Nelson says its a soft ride. There is a couple of members of the forum that do outstanding seat work. How soft they are I don't know. Hope this helps.
