Search Feature 3 letter Loop-hole!

Hey, question for the Mods here. I am over on Club Chopper and have always had a problem with searches if they have words containing only 3 letters, that it won't do it.

Tonight I tried to search XXX Carbs on here and it will not search any three letter words either.

Is there a way to turn that feature off on the backside so that it will work for all of us trying to find these 3 letter words?

There are alot of 3 letter words that get searched if you really think about it (besides Ass)!!!

First I've seen of this! This would be a question for Tim. I'm sure he has been evacuated from his work site due to the storm so maybe he will be on here soon and can answer this for you.

admins can change the minimum search word length to something less than 4 but they have to re-index the table. They make the minimum 4 because it uses way less space than 3 would.

So it is possible but kind of a pain to tweak if it wasn't done when the forum was initially created. :2thumbs:

If you just use "xxx", nothing comes up as bdmridgeback said..
and on this forum to get nothing with that, something is very wrong...

and on and on...

Just a small example of some stuff I have run into. Some important stuff there that gets searched alot and we wonder why guys can't find stuff and ask repeatedly all the time about threads.

I have had this problem before trying to search for stuff. Most of the time instead of fully asking for responses I ask if someone can post a link to what I was looking for. And always I get help for what I need from somebody on here.:2thumbs: . As for the three letters thing it is like that on one of the gun sites I am a member of.
