Got my starter back today, thought I would tell everyone what got done and how so if they want to get this done they can. It looks good and should work. Right behind the old press in seal there is about a half inch of steel about and 1/8th inch back the machinist milled a groove in it. the groove is 1/16 wide and 1/16 inch deep. He bought a o ring that is 1/16th thick, half inch round on inside diameter, 5/8 inch diameter on outside of o ring. He said to do this you need to pull everything off of the housing and heat it up to where it just turns red. Then bring the color down slightly and keep it there while cutting this groove in. He then took the shaft and on the end that goes in and out of the seal he milled down the sharp edge slightly. The good about this is it will work and when the seal goes out you can buy another one at the hardware store. Just thought I'd share.
