I'm considering replacing my Kerker 2-into-1 exhaust for a set of Samson Big Gun Shorties on my '03 chopper.

Is anyone out there running the shorties on their BDM?

Going from the Kerker to the shorites? Would that neccessitate any rejetting or other adjustments to the engine?

What about mounting brackets for the rear? Does that have to be custom made?

I had considered those pipes along with some Santee's and V&H short shots with slash cut. I liked the V&H most and you can find'em on ebay pretty cheap and with the full heat shield they looked like better pipes. I have similar length pipes now and am running 31 and 74 with no baffles. Hesitated pretty bad at 3500rpms with those jets till I took out the baffles. But runs GREAT now.

Even though I don't like that style.. hence my recent pipes..they are short n clean for sure.

What are you going for as far as sound? Slightly louder or LOUD?

Just slightly louder. I also like the shorty because it's easier to clean the rear wheel too. I keep chewing up my wrist, when I clean the wheels.

Well... yeah you'll have to stick with some larger named exhaust... samson, V&H, ect... check the exhaust thread.
