No where can I find a reference to the type of filters (oiled or dry). I am sure they are not oiled like K&N. Any comments. Also no comments in the instruction sheet on "Oiling them". I am guessing they are dry.

I'm sure they are probably K&N. But another kind is Green.
I went with Green cause you can't find anything on the K&N site or may I should say "it's so complicated to find what you need"! Greens site is pretty easy.

Both sell recharge kits and come with instructions. Re charge kit is cleaner and spray oil.

K&N Performance Accessories
Green Filter USA High Performance Air Filters and Cold Air Intakes

You just need a filter (any shape you like) with a 2 1/2" flange for most elbows on todays market.
Green also makes colored oils in red, yellow, blue and others.

I have the K&N recharge kit from the K&N filter I had with the teardrop aircleaner. I just did not want to ruin 2 $50 filters if they are not "wet" K&N

Both sites have instructions on cleaning and oiling. I don't think you can harm them. I washed mine several times this year along and it's not "green" anymore but looks good.

There real durable!

You can also clean them with simple green, but still need to re-oil them after they dry out.
