As a matter of fact it is at the speed shop being dyno tuned this week. I'm at work in Alaska right now and will be back home in Tacoma next week to pick it up. This is assuming everything goes smoothly.

Was waiting for my 2 into 1 exhaust to arrive which it finally did and then I had it ceramic coated on the inside hopping to avoid the typical bluing of chrome on the outside. Will have to wait and see how that works out.

Anyway I should have more info next week.

Any update on the S&S IST ignition? Dynoed yet? I am getting ready to drop a Grand on this system and wanted some user input before I order it. Looks like a fairly straight foward install. The kit for my bike (2002) is more expensive because of the install package which includes the cam sensor kit in addtion to all the extra sensors (Knock, Temp, MAP). Looks like it is a great system once the computer "Learns" you bike and creates a map.

it is a good system and as you say it dials itself in - that was the main reason I put it on my bike. Bikes runs great with it. However, if you think you will get a noticeable change in performance you probably won't from an ignition upgrade alone so bear that in mind when weighing in with a grand. As for the install I think I did a "how to" on it.

It can take up to 500 miles to completely self tune the IST. It took about 200 miles on mine for smooth running motor and all pinging to disapear at any load.

The mileage was great (45+ MPG pre-tuned) then recently we added a Thunderjet to my XXX carb. After the Thunderjet installation and tuning, the Dyno AFR analyzer showed a reasonable Air/Fuel Ratio of 12.5 to 13.5:1 depending on RPM. MPG has dropped substantially to around 25-30 MPG. Sometimes the bike smells like raw fuel but found no leaks nor have I fouled any plugs. Suspect the dyno AFR analyzer was not getting accurate readings but I need to prove it. I have my own portable AFR meter that I intend to run a check against the dyno analyzer numbers but will not be home for a couple weeks to do this.

My latest Dynojet SAE numbers were 107 hp, 125 Tq. but these dyno's could say anything. All I know is that it runs very strong with great torque over the entire power band. Dyno showed 4th gear roll-on from 40 mph to over 100 mph in 3 seconds flat. This is the type of performance I was looking for; I just have to make sure the AFR is accurate.
