S&S engine?

I have been wondering on what BigDog did to these engines when they put them in our bikes. I was told by S&S that they did some stuff to them before installation. They (S&S) couldn't, or wouldn't, tell me. Any opinions?

Depends on the year and the engine. If you give them your engine ID they should be able to give you more info. A 04 117 as you list was a option and i believe it is a stock non EPA 117. In 05 and 06 they mixed up some different parts with cams, springs, and rocker boxes, also cylinders were a bit taller to lower compression. I think 07 and later was all S&S but the engines were built to a de-spec for EPA.
