HEY CD, I JUST GOT A DESPERADO COVER FOR MY CHOPPER. LOOKS GREAT AND I GOT MINE FOR 34.00 DELIEVERD FROM E-BAY. DEFINITELY MORE VINTAGE CORRECT LOOKING THAN THE BDM COVER AND BREATHS BETTER ALSO.

I bought the insert from a different person, here is a link to his items on ebay, he has the cross in chrome and black, and the chrome in tribal, and also the chrome milled. The guy selling the desperado cover has the flaming skull like chopper Dave has.

That's good V. I really liked the look of the dual cone S&S but no way could I afford the $$. Did your cover come with three screws to hold the cover to the back plate???I got one about 2 weeks ago from bigdogkingpin. I think it was $65 bucks. New they are around $125. So it a good deal.
Also Donnie Peterson had a flow chart in AIM showing that this air cleaner flowed just a littile less than the new S&S dual cone filter set up

No it didn't come with the screws. It did come with a backing plate thou. Also noticed on the inside of the air cleaner cover it has a ink stamp with "AIH" on it. So it must be old Iron Horse stock cause I know the 05 and later AIH's had there own design air cleaner.
I got the screws for the cover from a local stealer

Does that use the same air filter element as the stock air cleaner? (I just bought a new K&N filter and would hate to waste it). Will it offer any additional performance over stock with the K&N or is this primarily just a different look? I am into skulls, so it's very tempting.For those of you looking for a Desperado Cover for your BD, there are a few on Ebay right now from bigdogpartskingpin and some guy called Jimbo's old chevy truck parts. I just scored one for 65 delivered....
