Rpm working speedo not

Dont know what's up, mileage not working either showing up just not clicking. When I turn the bike on the speedo moves but when I ride nothing. Anyone have any clue? 05 ridgeback

my 05 mastiff did the exact same thing. the issue was a bad speed sensor right on top of the tranny very accesible. i think 80 bucks or so you can do it yourself. my was done at the shop when i first got the bike and i wanted them to check everything out being unfamiliar with big dogs.

Check sensor Srodden mentioned, sometimes it is as simple as a good cleaning with a rag and brake clearn. If bad simple fix and only take 10 min or less to change out.

Also check to make sure no broken wires or bad connection, pull out the meter and check continuity at the connectors as well as from sensor wires.

Check the VR, mine went bad, then did the same thing. I now use that as a tell-tell sign that something ins't right and head for home.:up:

Cleaned and checked sensor, not that

Check the wire continuity from the sensor inward to the EHC. Need a wire diagram for an 05. Disconnect the battery and disconnect the harnesses from the EHC...BE CAREFUL not to damage the connector pins. Inspect interconnections, gently clean with a Radio Shack tuner spray cleaner. Cleaner could hurt the paint...so cover all good finishes and then use dielectric grease the replace EHC harness connections.

Right click the picture of the diagram and save it to your computer, then open it and you should be able to zoom or print it with no problems.
