Rotor buttons

Hey all, I ordered a set of 10 rotor buttons from the dealer here in Idaho in Dec. 2009 and they are still not here. Does anyone know where I can get them or is everyone having trouble getting dog parts.

I was going to order some a while back untill I found out how much they cost, about $14 each. Might check with a few of the vendors on here. Why are you replacing them? I thought mine needed replacement on my rear rotor, But I took the spring washers and cupped them a little more to make them tighter,and have not had any problems since. Just a thought.

My front rotor is real loose. My dealer quoted $14 for all 10. I'm not sure that cupping the washers will help. I might try if I can't find any.

Hey Bush,
Where you at in Idaho, I'm in Chubbuck/Pocatello. Have you been to or heard of Pocatello Cycle (local Big Dog Dealer). If your close enough, they are great to deal with. Great service with good prices.. They know what they are doing.
If your close, let me know. Maybe we can get a ride in this summer.....

Bushman, you better check thats $14 apiece. And if you do get them for $14 a set let me know because I want about 10 sets of them. I had my dealer order me a set and they were about $140 a set with out taxes. I m looking for a set of rotors for mine now. You can buy a set of rotors as cheep as you can replace all the pins. Buishman if you get them for 14 dollars a set let me know your dealer.

chopperman. I am in Boise but the kids live in I.F. Going thru Poky all the time. We will for sure get a ride in ths summer.

T.Byrd, I am pretty sure 14 was for all 10. Maybe thats why it is taking so long to get the damn things. I will let you know

Last year I called Big dog looking for one rotor button to replace the one that fell out. I was told that they no longer make rotor buttons for my 03 Mastiff but were more then glad to sell me a $300 solid rotor. I went to my local bike shop and he gave me a hand full of ones from Performance Machine (his drag bike sponsor)to see which one fits best, best part was the price, he gave me the rotor button "free".

I went through this last year. I even had Ryan at Gateway call Big Dog about them, and they were $14 each. They call it a rotor button kit, meaning that you geta button,washer,and e clip. Take your rotor buttons out and see if they are grooved where they ride on the rotor.
I bet that if you try and cup the spring washers some they will tighen up. I did this and it worked fine, and it savewd me $140. I used 2 sockets to do this.
use a socket that is just smaller than the outside diameter of the washer, and a socket slightly larger than the inside of the washer and hit the center just a little to cup the washer.
