Rocker Arms

Alright... as some of you already know I am going to do a bit of work in my K9's motor, nothing major, just going from TP to S&S Rocker Boxes and a few other little bits & pieces...

I have been searchind & reading all over this Forum and I am a bit confused with a couple things...

1. Can I use my current (TP) ROLLER Rocker Arms in the new S&S Rocker Boxes?

2. Roller vs non- Roller Arms, Pros & Cons?

3. Since I will be installing new rings on the pistons... would it be worth it to install also thinner (0.030 I think they are) Cometic gaskets in the lower & upper parts? yes - No? and WHY?

4. Are all S&S Heads the same? I mean, are the ones on our Dogs EPA'ed (smaller valves)?

5. Sugestions? I am after TORQUE more than HP. (I do have the 585 installed)

Thanks guys... more questions coming, I am sure of it!

Use S&S rocker arms as well as the rocker boxes. This way you cover all the bases.
Absolutely use the thinner head gaskets. The fastest way to more torque is increased compression. All of the epa 117" heads I've seen/worked with, have the smaller 1.940"" intake valves, and the 1.570" exhaust valves . Oversized valves WILL NOT hurt torque.
The valve seat inserts in the S&S heads run too large of a throat. Oversized valves fixes that, and HELPS torque. :2thumbs:
All the 4 1/8" head castings are the same. Depending on application, valve sizes change.
