 Well heres the skinny, I was riding my 07 Bulldog on the highway last week, enjoying all the people slowing down just to look at DOG, when all of a sudden, I hear a faint horn and the bike dies. WTF luckily I was in the right lane to where I cruised to the shoulder. I turned everything off and then it fired right back up, and I was able to make it back home. I bought it to the shop, and let told them what happened, they said it sounded like the EHC but without it happening when they are able to check it, they didnt know what was happening. They ran tests etc and said they couldnt find anything wrong. The next day i picked it up and started to ride home, when dam if it didnt happen again. This time I was close enough to the shop, where they came with the trailer and picked me up. They kept the Dog for a few days, and they found a live wire above the battery that would hit the frame and reset the bike, so they resealed all the wires. SWEET
Then the other day, i was cruising blazing up the road, when it it did not die not 1 but 3 times, so back to the shop I go. I have an extended warranty on it, but at this time they wont buy a new EHC, until I guess some type of fault code, or something shows up. The shop is working directly with BD on this one, cause I have no clue. I told them hell if the damn warranty company wont honor it, since I cant ride it in its current state, then I would just have to buy a Wire-plus on my own, cause I refuse to be on a trip and end up stranded somewhere. I hope the shop can find something so I could get a new EHC.... I was reading some other threads where I guess this happened to some other guys, and I know how they feel now, that sh*t is scarey and luckily i ride in the right lane.. So hopefully they figure something out, or maybe the company will just get me a new replacement. :bang:

Go wire-plus. Just do it, install it, move on. easy fix.
Yes I agree to install the WP and not look back however, there is the possibility of a bad connection or wire rubbing through causing a intermittent ground. You may consider looking at all wires and connections to rule it out. All it will cost you is a little time. I helped guy push his BD off the freeway and found a wire that came loose out of the connector and fell off the coil.

I just ordered the wire plus for my 07 and will probably try to install it when it gets here. Some people make it sound real easy. We will see. Bought mine through the group buy and I think you just missed the window.. Check the threads on wire plus or the forums for group buys and you might save a few bucks.

Slag it could be just your battery. Id look at it first. If you amp. drops any it will reset. There have been a lot of people on this form that have had this happen only to find out their battery was bad.

Yep, check your battery, all those connections & grounds even though I still think my old battery was a major cause of my Ech quiting. When mine went out I was in the left lane running about 80 in traffic with about a 1 foot shoulder on the side of the road I had to ease over to before it stopped rolling. I just replaced my battery while I was inthe WP process. The WP isn't that hard to do yourself. I really feel a lot better about making back home riding instead of on a trailer too.

WP is the way to go but would check everything (wiring etc..) else before going for it as it may not even be the problem..

Check the crimps at all the wire ends. I've found loose crimps before. Positive/Negative EHC to the battery.

Slag, if it is truly then EHC the go Wire Plus. I just want to share my experience with a very similar problem. Mine would do the exact same thing and it turned out to be a bad key switch. This does sound like a loose connection or a bad wire pulling power off and shutting down the bike. Anyway just my thoughts, hope you get her fixed soon.

Had a many similar problems on my 07 Bullgog. Beezer's (John) worked with BDM and found that the wire CRIMPS on some wires at the battery terminals were loose. Once they were recrimped the bike has been perfect once again. Don't hang any heavy items from your keychain as well. Keyswitches do go bad also.

Same thing happened to my brothers 03 chopper and it was the EHC, went with the wire plus....wire plus is a easy install, make sure you have a good crip tool and pay attention to the grounds, other than that follow the step by step posted by bdmridgeback and you should be good to go....I'm thinking of going ahead and installing it in my 05 before my EHC leaves me high and dry one day
