I make a 38 mile run up I-85 to work each day and I'm amazed a the shit I see in the road. I hate to hit most of it in my car, let alone riding a bike.
Another one that pisses me off is damn recaps. The will Fu@k your day or night up too.

RETIRED
The stuff that some people try to drag down the highways should be criminal. Cars with mattresses tied on top comes to mind rather quickly. hope the guy recovers.

I wonder what moron writes these stories?

There were reportedly several canoes in the road that had likely fallen off another vehicle.

No shit or was it raining canoes that day? Dumb ass.

Hope the rider recovers ok.

A couple of years ago there was a guy lost a big ass excavator bucket off a trailer on rte 8 in Akron during morning rush hour. Just kept driving. Wonder what his boss said when he got to the job site with no bucket. I would have had two words for him.

:confused: It doesn't rain canoes where you are?

On a more serious note - I hope he recovers.

Riding at night sucks - I try and only ride on well lit roads in which I have experience in the day light on. I need more LIGHT like Will Ferrell needs more cowbell!

Looking forward to retirement
I've dodged a 18' extention ladder a 8'-10' fiberglass step ladder, really didn't have time to notice exact length. That was a couple yrs ago BUTT, 2 cement trucks pulling out of a 55mph construction zone. Pouring a slab for a highway sign this past Saturday, both cement trucks pulled out together, one went in the left lane one stayed in the right lane. It is impressive how fast the mind calculates and makes a choise. My only option shoot the white line between them! work trucks on both shoulders and no time to break!

Did you stop at wall mart for new shorts? Cement trucks and motorcycles there's a combination. Glad you made it!

I have a 35 mile ride each way to work and have had to dodge all sorts of crap. Living in a college town the weeks that the students move in and move out seen to be especially bad. Its amazing what they try to strap in and on their vehicles and how poorly the do so, then they try to drive down the highway at 75 MPH. I think I've seen every piece of furniture imaginable laying in or along side the highway.
