:rant::rant:Took a ride from Ringgold Ga. over to Helen Ga. saturday. Took 129 over to Helen and ran into a road block, got through this one ok was a littled worried of my pipes and helment. Two into one no baffle and a skull cap. They were just checking license. Went into Helen had lunch and a couple of beers and started the trip home. Took a different route home and guess what another road block. Not so lucky this time, They made a big deal of the helment this time, me and my buddy both got a ticket for the lids. I guess in could have been worse they could have towed our bikes and could have given a ticket for the pipes. I,ve ridden the Dragon tail a few times on my harley and have always taken a dot helment just in case. But on my K9 ( NO Room ) and on the other end of 129 I thought in would be ok. (NOT) Just venting. Don't really mind the ticket it's just the !@#$%^ insurance I just got over a speeding ticket 3 years ago the ins was suppose to go down in Sept. O well be carefull in GA anywhere near 129

Sorry you got ticketed , but it pays to wear a DOT Helmet. Dot Helmets may not look cool, but cops don't care what they look like. It has to say DOT. Then again they could have smelled beer on your breath and made a bigger deal of something small. A warning would have been in order but then again you broke th Law and the Law won.

I wear a DOT helmet all the time now after being pulled over too many times. Luckily all my stops have ended up with warnings and sense the profiling law was passed I don't get bothered much anymore. I'm with Boo it's best to ride with a DOT. I get the lightest and wear half shells to keep the heat down. I go with a full face when raining or cold out, this way I know I'm covered in case LEO is running the streets...:2thumbs:

Thanks for sharing that information carpetman. I am going to do the Dragon hopefully mabe a few weeks as time and weather allows. I got a half shell that is a Dot but I have to wear ear plugs it. I will probably wear my full face helmet cause I want to take my Go Pro camera and try it out up there. I used to have a time with the police around here with speeding tickets. They give you a dirty look when they say "When is the last time you were pulled over for speeding boy!!! To which I replyed, " I think it was last week". :D

I have slowed down a bit since then or at least been more watchful in speed traps. It is more fun to slowly go tooling through their speed traps and wave at them, to which all the motorcycle cops wave back as they should.

I look at it like Boo does always wear a DOT helmet. No worries when going through Road Blocks. Hell I thought NY was the only state that had road blocks...
