did you happen to increase the RPM when you were checking the stator plug? the voltage should increase with RPM up to about 40 volts at higher revs.

I did rev it up while checking it, and did see and increase of voltage. But I'm not sure I ever saw anything up to 40 Volts... Low 30s from what I can remember..Although I wasn't heavy into the throttle, if that matters..

I would just get a new battery and VR. not that expensive for a VR

Had battery issues in past and spent the extra on WPS lithium battery, I think 540 CCA but not positive: I do know it was biggest one they made.

Had it for 3 years no issues, spend but I have piece of mind.
