Riding with children

i don't ride with children, but i would say they had better be able to reach the foot pegs with out any trouble and be able to reach all the way around you. not to mention being able to understand the ins and outs of leaning with the rider so you both don't get thrown to the ground. IMHO

My youngest daughter is 8 and rides with me often but she has no problem reaching the pegs and wears appropriate gear boots jeans helmet etc. My riding style changes from how I normally drive when she's with me speed limit and not as aggressive etc. It's not my driving I worry about but all the other idiots on the road who pay no attention to motorcycles even though with my loud ass pipes you would think they could here it from a mile away.

my grand daughter just turned 6 i do not per say take her with me when i go riding but i do ride her around here locally,the most she has been is maybe 10 miles and she is tiny she reaches the pegs wears a full face helmet i got her yet she cant put her little hands all the way around my chubby ass and holds onto my belt loops....

Haven't started allowing my 7yr old to ride with me yet.
The only thing I'd say is that they should be able to reach the pegs and be old enough to not fall asleep on the back.
Younger kids tend to fall asleep at the drop of a hat and, that would be BAD on the back of a bike.

HOLY SHIT, The air bag must have deployed on that bike! The poor kid should have been sitting facing the rear of the vehicle to prevent head/neck injuries!:roll: :roll: :roll: :roll:

I agree I ride my 7 year old on the dog and the glide but I only take the 5 year old around the block on the road glide.

I ride my 5 year old Grandson but I purchased 1 of these child riding belts from Fun On Wheels in Frederick MD. It is the best protection if your child wants to ride. My grandson has gone to sleep and this keeps him upright and connected to me. Here is a link to Fun on Wheels. There are other ditributors but they were close to me in Va.:

Lot the states have requirements for those under 18... As for kids I think it is 8... I would let my kids ride knowing myself but I would not let any other kid on my motorcycles....
