Ride it

We only have 1 life to live. Enjoy every fck!ng day as much as you can. I try to remind myself cuz we tend to forget just like in groundhog day.

It's like. Why buy a soft, puffy sofa only to cover it in plastic for it to be cold, sticky, slippery when hot and hard... The sofa is yours, to hell with keeping it for 50 years... it won't go in the grave with you.

My neighbor tried to get me worried with "all those chopper frames crack at one point, do you have a warrantee?"

I have never heard of a BDM frame crack, maybe BB or HBS, but never a BD.

Anyways, getting mine tomorrow, and will ride every time I can, even if for a half hr.

Hahaha,

This has been a good topic, you all have came up with some great answers. Yeah, this guy says he knows it all and talks out of his ass like no tomorrow. He is the 10,000 person I have met that has had a better Chopper than I do. My chick says that they just feel they have something to prove to you and want me to think better of them or some sh!t like that. Oh well, I get this daily but my Favorite one was this fat guy at Pep Boys in a Sion who said, Nice Chopper, I had mine that I used to Show and won best of show in every show everywhere he went and has won at Sturgis the past 5 years in a row. He had a lot to say about mine was nice but he had this and that, on and on. I thought about it for a minute as his Belly was touching his knees, he said he road to Colorado every year to Sturgis to show. I said, isn't it farther than that, he said nope it's 650 in Colorado, as he was saying that and looking at him. I can't see how it is possible to ride when your Belly fat hits your knees and when he got into his Sion, it bottomed out! The only best of show he would win would be the Worlds Strongest Metal for holding him up.

I know there are plenty of Big guys that ride but not as big as he was, and I am sure this wasn't something that happened in the past year. This is a lifetime of 10 Double Doubles at a time 6 times a day. I don't mean to be mean and I waited to leave until he was done spitting out crap from his mouth about how my bike didn't have what his did etc... As he struggled to breath just telling me this, I could see food on his face that had to of been there for a week at least and it wasn't just a piece of food, it was a whole Chicken Wing Stuck to his face. I bet he went home and looked up Sturgis and figured out that it wasn't in Colorado and was more like 2000 miles away. So I am sure you guys get this too, what do you all do or say? I try and be nice because thats who I am, I also don't appreciate being insulted either.

Well, recently I've been riding with one of my Harley buddies and his does attract as much or more attention as mine -- but that's because of the sidecar -- don't see many of them anymore (and this one is new - '10) and now that harley isn't making sidecars anymore...

Tell him to Fuck off. He wishes he had one. I am sure his bitch wife told him he can't.
Took the words right out of my mouth. I hate people who come around with their negative comments - next time tell him he can go fuck himself. I guarentee he won't say shit again. Dude's an asshole. You have a hotrod not a couch - with that being said most on this ride them all day long with no problem.

I wish I had more money.
Guys like that do that just like your gal said. He thinks it makes him look intelligent. Maybe to some dingbat. I give guys a chance and if they turn out like that I just dont hang around them. Maybe he'll lighten up.

BDMK9, I know this is a bit off topic from your OP but I have heard of several frames cracking AND a couple of handlebar welds cracking, so it can happen. In fact, my 06 K9 had both.

Now before any BDM haters take this the wrong way.....I love my Big Dogs - have 2 of them.....plan to always have at least one.....and I often ride them 400 - 500 miles a day without any problems....so I think you should forget your neighbor and ride !!

That said, as owner/operators everyone needs to conduct regular inspections and keep their eyes open to avoid a catastrophe.....

Thanks for the reminder dingo, I've often wondered about the welds on my scoot and occasionally look at them. I think Big Bears had an issue with welds breaking at one time; maybe it was just a bad batch of medal...

My neighbor is Mr Know it all, good guy in general but he is the guy that has something to say about everything and knows it all. So far he has mentioned a few things he noticed my bike having a issue with as I road by his house and has been right. Anyways, I ride my bike a lot, to the store daily or picking up my son a couple blocks away at his school. My neighbor said yesterday that my bike was only made to ride once in a while and maybe for a hour on the weekends unlike his Harley Bagger. I got my Chopper to ride as much as I want, even though I spend more time Polishing it than I do riding it. My Question is that, is there any truth to what Mr Know It All is saying? As I recall, my buddy Bill that is on these forums mentioned that it is fine to ride. I keep her Tuned Up and check all that I can before I ride, if it is a problem to ride it so much than it is time for me to get a new bike. What does everyone thing?

Thanks,

Bobby

P.S.
Yes I am a Total Nerd on a Chopper!!!
Your neighbor is a Dick and a Dusche Bag! Piss on his front door after he goes to bed every night!!!! Fuck him, ride the shit out of your dog. I would also suggest doing a nice burn out in his driveway!!! If you take my advice he wont be coming over offering his BS wisdom anymore!:2thumbs:

Or just invite me over I love pissin people off!!

Hell I ride my 03 Chopper daily. Just got done riding from KCMO to Omaha, rode in a 130 mile poker run there, and back in one day. 607 miles and she had no issues (til I busted a pipe, but that was coming due to my hard riding style) and even with a busted pipe she just hiccuped the rest of the ride home. Ride her hard but treat her well
