No, you shouldn't have to replace the struts. If you look under the struts you have on the scoot now, there should be two bolt holes. A stanchion mounts under the strut in which the sissy bar mounts to. I just bought the stanchions and 18' sissy bar from them...

No, those are very hard to find. Last I checked with Derek and Donna, they didn't have any anymore either, but give them a call.
