Ridgeback in Broken Arrow, odd encounter with it's owner

I was standing in a line at Lowes (71st and 193 E Avenue) Saturday and the guy in the line next to me had on a BDM t-shirt. (As I did, different shirts). I tried to strike up a conversation with him "So you have a Big Dog? What model?". He turned around and looked at me and seemed startled. (I am about 6"2" 240 pounds and pretty well look the biker part, he was just a little fellow).

He answered "I have a Ridgeback". I figured he might have been the new RidgeBack owner that posted a week or so ago so I asked him if he was on this board. His reply was "It's a show-bike" (this was the last thing he said).

It had to be one of the strangest conversations I have had for a while. The guy didn't say another word to me and my wife and I left.

Now, I have gotten a cold shoulder from the Harley (RUB) guys, but this was a first from a fellow BDM owner.

Maybe the guy was in a hurry or something. It would be nice to have a loose network of local Big Dogs...

Well, I tried.

Richard

p.s. Hey if you are on this board, what was the deal? Or just didn't want to talk?

Probably a dead stock bike with reflectors and all. He thinks he bought himself into a biker world with this "one off custom bike" that we can buy at any fuckin dealership now for $19k. FUCK HIM. Some people are just born dicks others... well...tell em...

Their are a lot of Big Dog owners like that around here, ASSHOLES in my book. A lot of Pre Madonas with a fancy bike and they think they can be dicks, most of them dont even ride them but to the local watering hole.

I bet he only has the t-shirt - every BDM owner I have met can't talk enough about their bike - he likely started to BS and realized you would find him out. Or he might be a nut case :job:

Yo... Richard,
I rode a with a guy out of Ft Worth for a couple weeks on the Blue Ridge in the summer of 06. We stopped traffic. Talked with folks on Vespas, Hondas, young, old, wheel chairs, and push strollers. Little old ladies got chills stroking the handle bars.......and we loved every minute. Didn't matter who, we were on vacation, riding real bikes, and the t-shirts we had on didn't say anything. I some times wear a golf hat and I suck at golf. I competed in waterskiing for 35 yrs. and I use those t-shirts for oil rags......But......if you ever come up to me on one of those rare occasions I have a Big Dog T on.........I guarantee we will have a conversation and probably be late for dinner

Richard, that was bizzaro for sure.
He prolly don't know shit about his bike (except how to shine it) which is why he didn't talk to you anymore.

Don't hold it against all us "little fellows" though. I'm 5'9 and prolly 145 soaking wet.

But I "eat constantina wire, piss napalm and can put a round thru a flea's ass at 200 meters".:D (sorry, i like that movie).

On top of that, if you make me mad, I will reply with caps lock on dangit!

I think its in Oklahoma, funny thing is 11yrs ago I went out of town on company buisness and a married guy from Broken Arrow flew in town and had an affair with my wife. So one day when I get out that way I will return his pics of himself and his kids to his wife if he's still married to her.
Sorry for the rant.

ps: oh yea buy the way I did divorce her.

Rue-sounds good to me--give me a shout and say where.:flag:
There's a "tea party tax revolt" downtown on Wednesday to protest the raise in taxes---maybe the people are starting to getting tired of getting screwed by the government. FIRE all the assholes, take back the government, get the country's shit together.:flag:
