Rider Height for Bikes

Hey guys, thinking about buying a BigDog K9 and needed some info. I own a M109R and a 1100 Custom already.

Im a short guy, 5'6" at most and i was wondering if my size would be suited for a K9 or am I shooting outside my means? always wanted a chopper like the K9. The forward controls looked a little stretched even for me so thats why im asking, and didnt know about the reach of the bike for the handlebars

any information on this or bike would be appreciated, or if modifications are possible

Don't know about a 2011, but the seat height for a 2009 K-9 is listed in the owner's manual as 24.25".

Should be okay. Best thing to do is go saddle up on one and check it out won't cost you anything until you say, this is it I got ta have it.

yea i dont think the height of the bike till be a problem because my M109R is over 25" I just need to know about the length to the control and grips

Hey, I'm 5'7" and ride an 07' Mastiff. I love the low seat height and the forward controls are perfect for me. I didn't see a lot of dif. in the set-up of the K-9. I just don't prefer the high front end, I go for the long and low look. I say try the K-9 on a ride, if it fits go for it.

thats what i was thinking, but i know big dog is closing up some stores and the closest one to me is tampa or columbus, but i dont know if they are open/closed.

and i still dont know if i will buy new or used

I'm not sure new will do much good at this point if there is no company to back it. I got mine used, garage kept with only 1300 miles on it. No regrets at all. Half the price of a new one and I've had no problems. Do some looking, there are some really nice ones out there that have been taken care of. Good luck, either way you can't go wrong w/ a Dog.

I'm sure there are dealers that still have bikes. I recently picked up an 04 Pit and at 5' 7" its a perfect fit. Forwards let me stretch out nicely. I'd prefer another inch on the bars, but that can be fixed. Saddle up and try one out. At this point new and used are gonna both require you to "diy".... just my 2 cents

You will be fine,I have an 07 chopper and I fit it fine,matter of fact I fit my friends K9 just as well...

I am 5' 9" and when I did the demo ride on a K9 the pegs and bars just did not feel right. They make a 2" push seat, moves you forward. If you got the seat you would be good to go. As far as seat height you should be fine.

A lot of the shorter riders feel the chopper model is a good choice for them but it really comes down to you taking all the scoots for a ride and then deciding what is best for you.
