#1 you should not have been riding with a fucked ip head light at night!

#2 re-read #1!

#3 put a T-Bag on your sissy bar and carry 10-15 very critical tools, also put in there extra head light, tools to open bucket, spark plugs and spark plug wrench! And a flash light The time it would have taken you to pull over and change out your LED back to a H-3 bulb and close your bucket? 10 minutes. It's all Allen wrench's. You remove your bottom set bolt with on's. Spin off your outer protection ring, insert 2 Allen wrenches 180* on the inner ring, spin it off remove bulb housing, swap bulb and reassemble!
I should take some of this advice for sure.. I have trailer Ed home my bike for a loose connection in my ground side of battery before.. I really want to get a BDM tool bag but damn people think these things are gold and sell em as so..

Well after 42 years of riding I went down last weekend, actually wrecked one other time when I was 19 on the road, and a few times on the dirt, any way, I put a LED headlight in the dog and it malfunctioned, the fuckin thing must have lost a few diodes that shine forward, had light at about 4 and 8 o'clock but really nothing forward, basically went straight at a turn.
Broke my clavicle, tweaked my right knee and ankle, and got some rash, not that bad considering. Bike is not that bad, but I need some parts for my 06 Mastiff.

It's really not too bad, tins came out ok, small rash on the tip of my front fender and dime size boot rash on my tank, and no dents. License plate bracket broke off, clutch lever ground a bit, left front and rear pegs, shifter lever, left front and rear turn signals, left mirror, left grip, top and bottom tree has rash, but I could grind then polish if I have to, and 12" sissy bar has some rash, front rim also rash on the edge of the rim, again I could grind and polish it out.

Well that's it for now, can't put the bike on the lift yet to really get a real good look at it because of the collar bone, but not too bad from what I see.

Any feed back would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Nine

There are people who have been seriously injured or killed due to headlight failures, I had my LED headlight go bad twice now and I just said the heck with it and am running the standard bulb for now, anyway definitely glad you are ok, like everyone else said, the bike can be fixed!

I don't know which type it was, got it from one of our vendors, he replaced the first one that went out, I didn't even bother him with the second, anyway I just ride with my highbeam on all the time, good enough for now, eventually I will get another one, but maybe a different brand.

Thanks for all the responses guys, as expected I'm in the process of healing and and accessing my bike. I'll be in contact with those who offered help with parts. Thanks again

Bike will be fixed. Just glad you are ok. Guess I really ought to pack a spare lamp. I have the tools packed just not the bulb.
I used to always carry a bulb in my tool bag along with some tools, stopped carrying a tool bag at the begining of the summer because I had it hanging off the bottom of my frame and I ground off one of my closure buckles.

This was a while ago, but the light went out while I was riding, I just happened to be heading into a turn at the time on a dark road.

Been a while since I've been on here, just read this. Just to clarify, headlight malfunctioned as I was riding and headed into a turn, would have swapped it out if it would have been bad from the start.
