I understand. I have gotten grumpy as I get older and it shows itself every once in a while and more often.
I can believe people who say they rewired their bikes. You just have to know what you are doing. Having wired a bike from scratch, I personally don't feel like sharing my work because I am never satisfied with my work. I always decide on a better way to do something. I will say that the less items you use the better because anything can fail. I had a friend decide to make trailer electrical connection using relays about 30 years ago only to have it not work until he realized he needed some diodes to make the blinkers work right. Why he wanted to do this was because he felt he could and he did. He also rebuild an engine in the middle of his apartment living room which was interesting.
I believe you just have to decide if you want to do it yourself and learn a lot about your bike or you want to find someone who can do it for you. It is incredibly satisfying to do it yourself. But as the years go by, I seem to forget how the heck I did something!
