Before I purchased my 05 chopper last June I called the owne's local dealer (Chrome & Custom) to ask about the general care and condition of the bike. They told me the bike was always serviced on-time, well cared for, showed no rev hits, and only needed one recall (Pivot Bolt). I purchased the bike (1800 miles) and shortly after, I took it to Hannum's (Philly area ex. BDM dealer) to have the recall done. The tech told me the bike looked fine and showed me the print-out with no rev hits. Since then I've been the only rider and have never even yellow-lined it. It's been in the shop for over a month for the trans and I was told by the service manager that the forks were bent and needed to be replaced. I asked how that could happen and he said "as hard as you ride the bike, you should expect it". He was referring to numerous rev hits that were registered on the print out. I was annoyed because I never rev'd it. I began to think about it and is it possible there may be some type of speedo/tach, or Control Module error? I know I never red lined (or yellow lined it) and I saw the previous print out last August from Hannums. Also, when I got it, it had 1800 miles and now has 4500. That's also a little suspect, because I bought it last June and only drive it around the local area. The furthest I've ever been with it is to Mt. Pocono and back (to SJ). I didn't drive it at all this past winter. I really think the odometer reading is incorrect and the rev hits are definitely incorrect. Does anyone else seem to have more on the odometer then actual and/or recording false rev hits?
