Ok. been fighting with a few things for a while now. Done!
Want to know of someone EXPERIENCED that can work/fix these issues. Hoping around the state of MT (surrounding 6 states ok)...
05 big dog ridgeback:

Here are the issues:
-Just put on karata 4" open. Needs to be torqued to spec, properly aligned etc
- new rotor/stator/vr.... already installed
-new battery and wiring harness from Curtis already installed

Issue:
Bike will not fire. I get good lights when key is on. Even tried jumping with car battery for more voltage.
What happens is it makes 1/2 revolution and then clicks/stutters..... PISSING ME OFF TO NO END! i am tired of fighting with it. I have no time to mess with it and just want it fixed properly.
Thoughts on issues: possibly the starter alignment/pulley alignment.

I would say your started is misaligned and binding up. When the open drive was installed did you loosen the trans so it could aglin with the motor? Did you shim the starter? Do you have the right jackshaft for the open drive? I would say any good custom shop could fix it quick.

That sucks. But before you waste a bunch of $$$, try the old battery or another battery. Sure sounds like a battery issue....

With the Karata shouldnt have to change jack shaft. They are specifically built to use stock starter and jack shaft....
Am i mistaken on this?

He's got an 05, no jack shaft! When I installed my Karata, I took the trans mission bolts out and re shimmed my trans for proper alignment. BDM did a lu lu of a job shimming these trans, I've re-shimmed all of my dogs except for the new one that I just bought, but that one will be looked at also. Here's whats needed to align the trans to the Karata:
1) Pull pipes if in the way
2) Pull the clutch actuator
3) Pull starter
4) You'll need to pull the Karata off
5) Once that's off, you'll need to drop your oil tank (4 bolts and vibration dampeners)
6) Remove the 6 bolts from the bottom of the trans
7) Put the Karata backing plate on using the four front motor mount bolts, torque them up.
8) Then take the transmission and mount the five bolts that secure around the main shaft area and torque them up.
9) Take a feeler gauge and check the clearances between the trans and the trans mount (you'll need to shim to those gaps)
10) Remove the trans and shim the mounts per the measurements you took on step 9
11) Install the 6 trans mount on the bottom of the trans mount
12) Install the rest of the trans bolts around the main shaft and others
13) Install the starter
14) Install the oil tank
15) Install the rest of the set-up including clutch actuator and exhaust

Awesome Brew! Want a mechanic job? LOL Great step by step! Thank you!
A buddy of mine is having trouble too with his electrical on his bulldog.... keeps going to high revs..map seems to be issue.
I am seriously considering loading both them up and driving them to someone more knowledgeable than myself n paying them to fix both of them (WA is Not a stretch. if you want a job let me know. cash money)... Just so tired of trial n error n not having time to get it correct....n worst of all the bike being down in the summer!!!!

Tell your buddy to check the wire with the 2amp fuse. If it gets loose it could cause the problem.
Thanks Paul. I will. LOL. ya Geoff was having issues with it dying. Then with it going to high idle for no reason n not idling. Thank you Paul. It STILL looks like new! Pisses me off when he parks beside me LOL
