Replacing Stock (Leaking) Gas Cap

Where can you find gas caps for the big dog? Is it going to be the same as the newer harley caps?

It seems around 70miles after fueling up, there is a gas trail from the cap. It has even started bubbling the clearcoat underneath.

Each time i make sure to tighten it good and have started randomly checking it each ride.

does it get loose! if you put grease on thr threades & rubber seal it might help!

It's always tight, but i'll give that a try. I was also looking for something more to grab onto instead the small cap.

its probably leaking between the tank and tank saver or you've removed the check valve from the cap. H-D caps can fit if the tank saver is removed first

Yep, leaking underneath the "paintsaver". Called the dealer and i'm the third to call about it, They're supposed to call back with a solution for the leak and my bubbiling paint.
Hopefully that 2yr warranty covers this?

Could just pull the paintsaver and then you could run an aftermarket cap...

Shit...mine's leaking between the tank and tank saver too. Got clearcoat bubbling up around 1/3 of the circumference of the tank saver. :down:

Right now I have my tank saver/adapter put in with silicone. It does ok, have had to re-do it once... but I'm afraid to do jbweld.
