replacing rear brake pads

is this the way they come out and go back in? Remove the clip holding the center pin... push the pads outward to push the pistons back as far in as possible... remove the center pin and anti-rattle spring... slide the old pads out.... clean everything up with brakkleen.... slide the new pads in to place from the top of the caliper.... push the center pin back in thru the spring and caliper and replace the retaining clip...
did I miss anything?

Now I have found that the SBS pads that ChaCha suggested stop great, no squel BUT there is a lot of brake dust from them so far. I'm hoping this is only happening during the new pad break-in and will eventually slow down some.

Gas is right, word is the LBRs are better to minimize the brake dust -- if you're worried about that "show bike" kinda thing.

Hey Cha... your correct about the SBS pads. Great stopping ability for sure. Work great especially for the price. But you know me.... Mr. Anal. The only hassel for me is getting out the rag everytime I stop somewhere and wiping down the rear wheel. What can I say buddy, that's just me So what's changed? Not a thing

yea the SBSs do have good stopping power. I've locked the rear tire with them, but never the stock ones.

Rented a ride yesterday and trolled the northern roads. Off to nebraska next week and going to ride to SD and KS while I'm there. I don't get back till the end of the month, so enjoy the rides while I'm gone.:bang:

Rental harleys are OK but I miss the power of the Dog.:up:
