Replacing coil on 97 ProSport-

Posted in vintage also. Needing some help if anyone has any ideas. I'm looking for a replacement coil suggestion as I'm getting 8k ohms on the secondary and spark is pretty meager. Primary is fine at 3.4 ohm. Replaced plug wires initially as had one bad wire also. Any idea what was original to this bike as it's a tight fit and my coil doesn't have any marking. It's a 3ohm dual fire cylindrical about 2 inches long and 1 1/2 " dia. if you have any suggestions its paired with a Dyna ignition 2000i I believe?

Needing 3 ohm primary and 12k ohm secondary that is small enough to fit under factory cover. Thanks - Paul

'Use coil with 5.0 ohms primary resistance for street use, 3.0 ohms primary resistance for racing applications.'

What little I know and what little I read, see if this makes sense. The above is a quote from said source. My mental toolbox says; 'you cannot separate heat and the chemical reaction caused by magnetism.' I then apply 'heat' against the race and street application. 3 ohm says [more heat] times less resistance times less hours in use. 5 ohms says [less heat] when longer hours are used so 'Heat' does not breakdown the coil overheating it.

Thanks for replying Sven. I had read that and have an email into them and have been waiting on response regarding dimensions and ohms. My factory owners manual states to use a 3 ohm 12k ohm coil which is where this started. At that point I said I just need to go back with what I had as I lack the understanding. I thought higher resistance increased spark. is this incorrect thinking on my part?
