Replacing CAMS

Not sure if the wolf is that much different, but it only has one cam. Ebay posts them from time to time. About $100 is a going price for a .600 S&S

There are three. Give S&S a call and they will give you an exact price. I just changed my cams to the 569 easy start along with some other things.

About 425.00 for the cams plus labor. If you do it yourself they make an alignment tool that will keep the cams in place so that everything will be timed properly when the timing belt is reinstalled.

If you are going to change the cams, you need to change the throttle body to a 58mm, and the ecu to the unlocked one. Total cost around $ 1500 to 1750. Depending who you have to do it.I did it over a year and a half ago. Lots of difference in the way it runs.

I was looking to do something like that too and I talked to S&S and they said that I don't need to change the throttle body. Jsmuth did the 128" upgrade kit with the unlocked ecu and I think he didn't change the throttle body too. Jsmuth correct me if I'm wrong. I need to investigate about it. Anyway between cams and ecu is gonna be over $1,100 another $600-700 for the eventually 58mm throttle body. Fred if you paid that money with installation you did very good. Personally I hope I can do this mod next here.
You guys keep posted about yours mods and jsmuth I'm anxious to find out how much power you end up with your 128" kit.

S & S said to change the cams, throttle body and the ecu along with the dual runners. I did. It raised my Hp from 79 to 101 amd the torque to 110 ( If I remember correctly)

The person I talked to at S & S didn't seem to be very familiar with the X-Wedge engine so probably you are right. Anyway you got a huge increase of power very worth the money you spent and I am gonna do the same thing as soon as I have the money.

Are you pertaining to camshaft here? Camshaft has critical function of continuously opening valves to allow the intake of a mixture of air and fuel, as well as allowing exhaust to escape from the engine. Lubrication is the key to minimizing wear on the camshaft. Regular oil changes and filter replacement will save you from a pricey early replacement, which AOL Auto estimates at more than $3,000. Moreover, camshaft is in the list of the most expensive auto repair. Therefore, vehicle owners must know this: . Check that out for the details. That could really help you to shun from costly repairs.
