anyone know of a good replacement stator for a 2004 bulldog? what do i need to look for?

That just isn't right manCall Big Dog see if they can help you
Why keep feeding the dog that keeps eating you up more than what you care to spend on it. Sell the pup, fix it or move on. You are not the only one with issues, we all have them and take care of them. If you can't stand the heat get the fuck out of the kitchen.

I have a really loud pipe and normally wont ride over 2000 through the neighborhood or town.
Dingo,Loud pipes or not, running at 2000 RPMs in any gear other than first - and maybe 2nd - is lugging these motors.
Well said brother. This guy has written all trash about our beloved little jewels, Carlos was just the one with guts enough to say it out loud.Call Big Dog see if they can help you

It is a forum where we help each other out and I will continue to do just that, but I will not stand there with my finger up my ass while you slander the founder of this fine Motorcycle and you can take that to the bank. You say I have no right to attack you post, I didn't I just casually mentioned that BDM might be able to help you. I forget that the part department was not conducting business at the moment.Carlos,
I thought the forum was a place to help each other and use the experiences of others to keep our Big Dog’s running and performing at their highest level. I think the ultimate goal for each of us is to ride. I admit I’ve had problems with my bike like the rest of us have. Like most of you I get frustrated at times. Carlos’ attack on my post was uncalled for. The military teaches respect and discipline…which Carlos obviously lacks. Makes one wonder what his MOS was? I have always had the utmost respect for anyone who has serve their country, but like the saying goes you have to give respect to get respect. Carlos needs to learn that the title of Marine in his signature means that he should conduct himself as such and not spew the vomit that comes to his mind. We all need to think about the titles that we put after our names…and what those titles mean to each of us and to the public.
Be safe, enjoy your ride.

You're over thinking this. They state that their system puts out 25 amps at idle and 40 amps at 2800 rpm, above that you probably get very little increase in current due to losses. They don't state the rpm at which you are charging your battery because it's impossible to know, depends on many things. Most systems drain the battery at idle, then begin to charge at some rpm where the current supplied by the system surpasses the demand. In the case of the three phase system I'm sure it's charging at a lot less than 2800 rpm, and probably less than the stock system.I checked out the 3 phase system. I see it says 25 amps at idle and 40 at 2800rpm. Is 25 at idle really charging the system? Also, does anyone ride around at 2800 rpm? Im a bit green on the electrical side.
I heard our factory systems start charging at 2000. I have a really loud pipe and normally wont ride over 2000 through the neighborhood or town. Ive found I sometimes dont have enough oomph to start my bike on short trips to the store. Is there a system that charges at a lower rpm or can something like that be adjusted in any way?
Yes.....Is 25 (amps) at idle really charging the system?........
I have never seen or heard of one..... Is there a system that charges at a lower rpm……
No..... can something like that be adjusted in any way?
