Replacement rear tire

I currently have an Avon Venom 250/40/R18 on my 2004 Soft Tail Chopper. I was told that the Dunlop Elite 3 is not compatible (i.e. too big for my bike). I was also told that the Avon Cobra replaced the Venom of the same size. All a little confusing. I need to know what does fit as a replacement. Also, any pointers towards good deals for a new tire would be appreciated as well.

Thank you all for the welcomes. I have found several deals on the Dunlop Elite 3's. Just wanted to make sure they would fit/work before sinking money in to a tire. I ride a lot so it sounds like the Elite 3 is the way to go. Thanks again.

That's great news for me as I have already found a couple available locally. They appear to be a good deal Just need to see what condition they are actually in. Thanks again for the info

I was told metzler will get the most mileage then Avon’s then shinkos

I prefer metzeler hands down, but on the k9 it's a no go unless u want them cocked due to how far that rim guard sticks out and rubs the belt. Better off just sticking with Avon.

Or take 2 minutes to knock the edge off and it aligns perfectly, tomato tamoto
