Replacement Gas Tank Caps (1999 Pro Sport)

My gas caps got stuck. Took the tanks off and was able to get the caps off, but now need new caps (old ones got destroyed in removing them).

I have split tanks, one normal and one reverse threaded cap.

Would http://www.motorcycle-superstore.com/42205/i/drag-specialties-chrome-screw-in-gas-caps this be the correct replacement?? Looks like they come individually. Do I order one vented and one non-vented (with vented being standard threaded and non-vented reverse threaded or vice-versa????)

While tanks are off I'm going to clean and seal with the Caswell kit...

With the bike on the kick stand, the left side is lower, so you don't want that cap to vent. Yes, you do want the right one to vent.

With those stock style gas caps, will they work with paint protectors? Or do paint protectors need to come off? For them to work?

It would appear that these caps require the paint savers to be removed. Once they are out, most HD caps will fit. Paint savers used smaller threads and dia cap. Paint savers a bitch to remove tho. They are JB Welded in!

Do a search for paint saver removal tool. They make a plastic one, but several have made some aluminum ones that work well. A heat gun will soften the jb weld a bit, but make sure there are no fumes...!
