I had small scratches from the pinion pad, I took Mothers Billet polish with a micro fiber towel and it worked, no damage to the paint at all, My wife's car had some stains in the paint, same result, worked great.

yes, I tried it on my wife's car after she parked under a tree and sap was all over her car. once you remove the sap there was still a stain, Mothers took it out. I went on a ride Sunday all day with my wife, got home and there those marks from the pinion pad, took them right out. mothers billet and micro fiber

I found out by accident the mother billet polish also works great if you rub it in with you finger on chrome and billett, the one you point with, not your middle finger. I really don't like the micro fiber as much as I do soft cotten towels, diapers to wipe it off. I use them too but like cotten better.

Get you some 3M paint protective tape for that fender and you won't need to worry about it anymore. I got mine at HRPWorld.com

I accidentally wiped a windshield with a rag that had been used w/Mothers and it left fine scratches all over the glass. I figured it would do the same to the clear coat.

there are two types of Mothers, one is mag and wheel, and Mothers billet polish, the mag and wheel is more abrasive, i am using the billet

I use them both the mag and the billett polish but if you really want that mirror shine try Weiman's Silver polish on the billett or chrome after you polish it with the mother's. You can get it at Walmart for $3.47, easy to use too. It is not my imagination either. Yesterday I rode it down to Bass Pro and the guy that checked me out leaving ask me if I was riding that black chopper ( usually called Scooter) that was shining so much! Silver polish is the way to go, it takes all that swirly. tiny scratches out too.

When I install mine, I always make sure the suction cups are clean and so is the fender.

Now as far as your chrome sheilds Franco, I would suggest you start wearing cotton jeans instead of polyester and they won't melt on the pipes.
