Removing rubber from pegs

Hello all,

Anyone know if it is possible to remove the rubber from the pegs so the metal can be polished? Ive been doing it the hard way for years now and I began to wonder of a better way. Any advice on the R&R of the rubber or how to get down in betwwen and right in the corners of the rubber/aluminum?

I think the rubber is injected molded into the metal, therefore they are not replaceable.
Just a PIA to clean...what I find that works is a small buffing wheel on the end of a drill (or flex shaft) with buffing compound.
Tire black to clean up the rubber and make it black.

I've got the easiest solution...don't polish the pegs!
They are just going to get dirty again.
I've never polished mine in 5 years. :)

I use a small (child's) soft bristle toothbrush. Then tire shine to clean up the rubber. Works good for me,

been there and figured out a way to get in there to clean em...first get it off the bike then use a dremel tool with a polisher tip (made my own). yes its a bitch at first but the second time i clean it it gets easier. as for those that finds me dumb for doing this...dont worry i only do it when i need a show shine. LOL!!
