Removing clutch cable

Just wondering if anyone has taken their clutch cable off with the guide brackets that are welded to the frame. The cable won't fit between the split in the bracket. Am I missing something? Thanks

Sorry about the rookie questions. I appreciate all the help.

Where you adjust the cable it comes apart .and you slide the inner steel cable thru the opening.
