Just a question for now, but as Big Dog is on the verge of closing or re-inventing itself. Has anyone ever come up with a list of just what one would have to do to remove other BD proprietary items besides the dreaded ECH module. I know there is a sticky on "Ditch the Bitch" and some have already gone with the WP, but what else is there. Again just a question for now in thinking how to make the Big Dog better and more reliable.

Thanks in advance,

On your 03 it's just the main wiring so real easy for you. For the newer models its more complicated.

I've been wondering about this as well. What about 04's? I know it will be more than the 03's but less than the 05's.

For the 2004;

- EHC --> Wired+
- Electrical harness --> Wired+ will make one for you
- Hand controls --> Standard HD
- Handle Bars --> to fit standard HD controls
- Speedo --> Wired+ can use the BDM one, but it is a proprietary part
- Turn signals -->might work with above, but I changed mine over to LED strips

Thanks Ray/Chacha, :2thumbs:
So I guess owning an older dog is not that bad when it comes time to modify or remove BD parts.

It's probably a lot better when it comes to getting replacement parts. The Wire Plus module for your bike is plug and play. Then you only have to hook up about 8 wires going to the dash panel lights.

Thanks chacha, What about a the rear master cylinder? Will an HD rebuild kit work? Same question for fork seals.
