Reliability Update on Performance Components

Many of us have added aftermarket engine components to our dogs, like, Woods Cams/Valve Springs, Bandit Clutches, XXX Carbs, Thunderheart Ignitions. I would like to know what reliability issues you guys have had since you installed these components. Things like warrenty problems etc.

my warranty transfer was cancelled as soon as they learned of my chain drive, which they learned from monitoring the old site. it most likely is against the mag-moss act but how many $$$ would it cost to fight?

as far as i'm concerned most warranty issues arent worth the extra down time the shops take to fix them.

My belt drive voided my warrenty. The shop where I took it for recalls called BDM and ratted me out. Got a letter 2 weeks later saying I modified the bike so no more warrenty. Its just one of those crappy ways all products use to void a warrenty. Just do what you want to the bike, the rest will work itself out.

Let me redefine the original question that started this thread, sorry for the confusion. My questions is about the reliability of the aftermarket components we have installed. Like the Thunderheart, Bandit like stuff. How well are these aftermarket items holding up and how are they lasting? To this point i have not had any issues with the A.M. stuff, just wondered if anyone else has?

No issues here, seems I need to increase checks on loose bolts, and had to switch to some heavier oil but if anything I think its more reliable.

looks like my PSI carb may have taken a shit - speaking of shit I nearly had to get a mid-wife round to deliver mine yesterday after a night on the guiness

maybe not - maybe the adjustments I've made to it. I should know more in the next day or two.

Had some rineharts where the heat shields were spot welded on the pipes. Most spot welds began to break after two years, lost one heat shield. $800 POS! Now rineharts puts their heat shields on with hose clamps. :down:

No issues whatsoever with the aftermarket parts. It was the original parts they replaced that had all the issues. :up:
