Well I have owned my big dog chopper for about 6 months now and figure I should go ahead and waste some money and get plates for it. I have been riding around on temp tags. LOL Anyway looked up the value on KBB and says 10k retail and 7k trade in. Obviously I know its worth more then that but for tax purposes I like that value. Just curious what everyone else who has done this says their bike is worth. Now in Texas they go by a % of book value so not a whole lot of room for negotiations. Figured I would tell them I bought it none running and it needed a motor rebuild for 4k and see if that works.

You're lucky. In Louisiana, it is based on how much you paid for the bike.

Yea in Texas its the same way but I never put the price I paid on the bill of sale or title for anything until I decide what I want it to be. LOL

Your lucky most states will ask for a Bill of Sale..
