If I have to go to a single pump where all three types come out of one hose, I'll use the highest they have and (when the attendant isn't looking) squeeze off the first bit on the ground to get the regular that is still in the hose out so it won't go in my tank. I was told by the dealer to use the best you can find - high octane. But, just try to find a place that has three separate hoses.

Someone recently posted that the new bike manual states you only need to use 89.

I just use Premium where ever I fuel up. On the hwy you don't always have a choice!

I wish I had more money.
I run a little higher compresion motor and i run 91 without a ping or knock. But with that being said I normally try to run the 93. Mostly when it is hot out.

I run high octane gas in my sled because it needs it (race engine). To run anything over 93 in the dog is a waste of my beer money.

This topic has been beaten to death : BUT till you try the 110 race gas " I say mix 1 /3 with 93 " and add a squirt of Lucas don't poo poo the results . Fuel Mileage will go up ! PROVEN / drivability /power ! ...I'm well aware of the reasons to run high octane with high compression engines and I know the stock 117ci SS is not a high compression motor . IT JUST RUNS BETTER . When running this mix I don't get the occasional hecup or stumble the only explanation I can give you is that with todays shitty gas 10% or more ethanol ?? who really knows how much of this crap you get ..this mix will make your ride purrr . Belive it TRY it then poo poo it ..you won't

The minimum octane required as listed in my owner's manual is different than the figure that was on the downtube sticker I removed. (89 vs 93?) I have always used 89...people are usually so close on my behind I think they are pushing me anyway-so I can't tell the difference.

2008 Book "91 Octane" The mandatory sticker removal states '91 Octane'

I normally put the highest Octane on the pumps however since / sense it's F'ing snowing I'm not putting any Octane in the the Dog that only has 200 miles on it. :bang:

not enough time 4 riding
It is only about $1 difference between regular and premium per fill up. When you look at how much you spent on the bike and all of your mods, why would even try to save the $1. Buy the good stuff.
