Redline Shock Proof and Tranny issues

I use the lightweight shock proof 75/140w. This is such a small transmission relatively speaking and doesn't see the shock loads that would require the heavy shock version. No issues.

Local Mech told me he has alot of trans out there with Redline in them. He says the only ones breaking are the ones that guys abuse. One guy has broke 6 (six, VI, yes six times) Baker six speed trannys with Redline in them, but he said that guy beats the dog shit out of his bike.

He said no connection that he sees with Redline and breakage, just alot of guys running the stuff.

The Puppy Farm Rep told me this last weekend that it was an issue they were seeing with the early trans. He also stated that he has only seen a few, but that they are taking care of the ones that break as it seems random. I would guess that the lube in this case is not the cause of the issue. Mine had the fluid that the dealer had just put into it for the 5k checkup.

I recently put redline in my trans and was shocked ( no pun intended ) at the difference. It really is a noticeable difference, I'm glad I switched.:2thumbs:

Glad to hear BD is picking up the tab for your tranny. I too have a 06 K9. Really hope it is a random problem.

I'd like to see some info. on the year and mileage on the trans as well as the fluid. Thought the 05 model had some issues (may be mistaken). Wouldn't rush to conclusions based on a single criteria.
