Redline heavy shock Transmission gear oil

I just saw a video on how running redline heavy shock oil will take out the bearings in the big dog transmission and ruin the transmission. Is there any truth to this ? My bike has this redline oil in the tranny , wondering if I need to change oil.

Only if you feel the need. I just changed mine. Fresh Shockproof. Just what I do. There are other choices. You should get varied replies.

I would not use Redline Heavy Shockproof in my tranny either. We saw to many bearing failures with pepto bismol colored tranny lube at the HD dealership I worked at. Some will disagree,, use what you want, doesn't matter to me. I use Brad Penn 80w/90 GL4 gear oil. Harley Formula Plus works fine too, at least in left side drive bikes.

ATF in a pinch if not mix half with gear oil. Cntrl + H for history. Scroll down for the utube logos and send in the url vid. I too have heard some oil took out an engine at a non hd dealership.

It is ok to run it in the older LHD Baker and Jim's transmissions, but no in the newer RHD transmissions. The shock proof is to thick to lubricate the inner bearing. Use Lucas 75W90 gear lube.

Just curious if it’s ok in left side drive bikes(the lucas75w90) I have a left side and right side and like to keep the same in all
