Wonder at what temperature paint will start to bubble?According to their TDS you need 482 deg. F.

That's what I was thinking, the paint on the electrical cover on my K9 is bubbled up and it's about an inch or so away form the pipeWay before 482 degrees is my bet! Got a pic of what you're working with?
That sounds like a good idea, as long as you don't lose the temper in the allen wrenchHeat the alan wrench till it glows and then hold it in the screw and let it transfer the heat. Might be a little faster than a soldering iron
