The modifications on my 05 Ridgeback are as follows:

Super G
K&N
Street Walkers RP Geez

I'm ready to order Thunderheart ignition and was wondering if I should get the 600 cam to go with it. Any thoughts?

Thx BH. If I go that big of a cam i would have to deck the heads......new springs, lifters which would be a little pricey right now. On that 650 woods cam did you lose some of your bottom end at all?

the 650 gives you more at the bottom end - that's what it's designed for. High lift short duration. Do you know for sure what cam you already have?

The stock cam is in there......I'm thinking 561 cam in the 117. I just talked to Scott Palmer at Hillside Cycle in NY they can they can do the whole shabang for $1800 to make the 650 night prowler cam work for me. That's sending my heads, carb, intake out to them. He's going to thunderjet the carb.

Hillside is top notch.

i'm sure he had you measure your deck height so he knows the amount to cut.

You should state what you expect out of your bike! Do you need a bigger cam? Are you a rider or barhopper? Not being disrespectful just that the members may help you a bit better if you tell them you want a thundering harhopper or you want a commuter.

Good luck with your build whichever way you go. :2thumbs:

It sound about right for the machine shop work, maybe. I had my heads done by Larry's Motorcycle & Machine Shop, in Oak Lawn, IL. (wfolarry@larrymotocyclemachine.com) for $679.00, this included shaving the heads .030, Porting the heads, Bigger intake and Exhaust valves (2.00 intake & 1.605) new valve guides, cutting squish groves on heads and installing the Woods W 188-1200 Springs which are the springs for the 650 Cam. The woods cam W-6 HF cost $350 and the springs $280. I did not cut the cylinders down because, for one could not find a place to do it and next was told by Larry that the squish groves on the heads would pretty much take care of any detonation. I instead opted to use thinner gaskets from comatic to reduce the deck hight by .023 by using Comatic 0.030 head gaskets and .010 base gasket. The stock head gaskets are 0.043 compressed and 0.020 base gasket. This gave me about 10.5 or so so compression which compliments the 650 cam very well. I can still use pump gas and not have detonation problems. The Comatic gaskets cost $66 (part # C9931 for the head gasket and C-9935 for the Base Gasket. You will need one each (sold in pairs) I also had the cylinders honed and new rings. I spent a total of about $1,500 and did all the work myself aside of the Machine work. Bike sound great, I also added a PSI Carb and Street Walkers 2-1 Rpgees. Loud you say, yes very loud and mean to. I only got to put a few miles on it before I parked it while my rear fender is being worked on, but sounds mean. I hope to be back on the road within a week or so.

Yo little Boo that's everything he said he was going to do. All I need to do is to take the heads, carb, and intake off and send it to him. I have the Street Walkers RP Geez also so it sounds mean huh? How did it feel when you first took off in it?

I HAVE A 2007 BIG DOG CHOPPER, THIS IS MY SECOND. I HAD THE 600 CAM ON MY 05 AND NOW HAVE IT ON MY 07. IF YOU GO TO THE 600 YOU'LL NEVER RIDE ANYTHING ELSE. IT IS A SOLID MID RANGE CAM THAT WILL PUT YOUR BALLS IN YOUR THROAT WHEN YOU THROTTLE UP AT 3000 RPM.

I forgot to mention that I also put the JIMS Hydrodsoild Lifters in there. I will try to shoot a short video or two tomorrow so you guys can hear what I am talking about. The bike won't look to cool cause it doesn't have the rear fender. But I will give it a shot.
