Recall Number 07V-356 Circuit Protection Kit

What exactly is the (Recall Number 07V-356) Circuit Protection Kit and what does it protect?

X2 if you still have the CB in place, I would switch over to the circuit protection kit.

Alright guys. Thank you all for your input. Slowly learning more and more about Sheldon Colemans lovely creations.

It protects the charging system. The voltage regulator should be the only thing hooked into it. They had a problem with the '05- early '07 models. Some voltage regulators were shorting out and catching on fire. The circuit breaker was not sensitive enough so would not protect this from happening. The Maxi Fuse kit took the place of the circuit breaker.
Do you need one? I have a few on hand.

I have one installed. It was done in 05 when I first bought the bike. I was just trying to better understand the electrical issues considering all the problems these bikes have. But thank you for the offer.

Andrew, I have a 05 Ridgeback with a history of VR issues. How can I tell if I need a Maxi Fuse Kit???

It protects the charging system.

As a point of clarity the fuse doesn't protect the charging sytem, it protects the EHC and the bike's electrical system FROM the charging system in case something goes bad... like the VR.
