Recall info deleted?

I am hopefully buying a 2004 Chopper tomorrow.

after reading a lot on here, it seams this year could have or had a frame problem / recall. Its a black frame so its going to be hard to see a crack anyway.

Any Ideas where to get the info on the recalls and weather or not it was done? or if it was even in the right time frame?

By decoding the VIN

Its a 2004 Big Dog Chopper, with a Rolling Thunder Frame (RT), 107 Cube motor, made at plant W, and it was number 752 in production that year so I assume that's pretty late in the year? But I dont know the production numbers? And have googled and searched and cant seam to find that info.



So any idea how to find out if it is something to be a problem or what.

When I do a search it just shows electrical. But I know mine is a N frame being a rolling thunder. But is it all RTs or just in a range of vins

My RT frame was built early in the 2003 model year (ser. no. 000075). Big Dog sent the recall notice on Jan. 15, 2004. The recall process was completed in Wichita, April 2004.

It was called:
Safety Recall Notice; Campaign No. 03V-535; Chopper Frame Remedy

They added a reinforcement piece between the upper engine mount and the front frame gusset. It fits around the front gas tank mount. It's a similar size tubing as the upper engine mount and front frame gusset and welded to them.

You should be able to identify it by looking from the side of the front gas tank mount. They did an excellent job of welding and painting, so you can't tell it was an added piece, except that it stops at the front of the upper engine mount.

The recall paperwork only lists my ser. no., so I don't know which other frames were included.
