Love my 2008 k-9 It has been flawless but afraid of ending up with an expensive door Stop.
what parts are proprietary ???..bd only and what are available elsewhere.
Example.. battery..oil filter, brakes parts , rotors, cables ,voltage regulator, Front end parts for servicing. Are these readily available. I assume trans and clutch parts can be gotten from baker. And engine parts from S and S. Does wire plus replace the bd computer and solve most electrical problems.
I love to ride. But many shop owners are saying no to big dog service in fear of having a big dog door stop taking up shop space.
Thanks for imput.!!!

You can get just about everything from somewhere else.
The CNC parts are proprietary but you can always make other stuff fit if you cant find what you need. Like hand controls, you could change the whole set up out to a harley style if need be...

Reassurance?? You don't need "Reassurence". You just need "BALLS and MONEY" and you proved you have both because you own a BIG DOG.

Your kidding right:loony:

If not, ya might want to do some more reading around here; we don't have many, if any, problems that can't be solved around here. Ya might want to try some good shops if you can't wrench it yourself.

Quit worrying and ride the tires off that dog....:whoop:

F'um and pick up a service manual and do it yourself. I have a 08 w/16400 miles and has run flawless.

Bike runs like there's no tomorrow. With the proper pre-trip maintenace I would have no problem jumping on it and riding cross country and feel very confident it will not break down.

Keep in mind with the knowledge anything can be fixed. :flag:

Stryfox... cnc parts? are they the cosmetic parts such as hand controls. pegs , headlight and of course ehc.... I know anything can be fixed with enough know how and bucks. I appreciate the knowledge here and will lean on and learn. So brake parts, internal front end parts and other wear items are easily found off the shelf. Any suggestions for a good
wrench in So calif. I plan to keep riding hard. Just looking to keep the dog first class.
