Rear tire Aligment Avon vs Metzler

[06 ridgeback]

Does anyone have the proper alignment procedure for a 06 ridgeback? I replaced the avon tire 300 with a Metzler and now the tire is rubbing on the belt. Could it be just the difference in the molding? I bought a beltr guage, so I have that. But after reading on hear, I cant determine a refernce point for checking alignment. Could I use a strut bolt? Also, I think i have the correct torgue for the back wheel but 65 ft lbs, but if you can confirm that I'd really appreciate it.

One last thing, is anyone going to the Union Hotel anytime soon. Preferrable on a Sunday.

from what I understand the metzler is slightly larger and will have the rubbing.

The Metzlers are wider than the Avons. While I ride an 06 K9 the dimensions are vey similar to the Ridgeback and my belt rubbed off about 3/16 of the tire edge when I changed to Metzlers. I am not happy with the Metzlers though and will going to the new Avon on my next tire change. The Metzlers wear really strange on BDs for some reason as numerous posts on this site will attest.

I had a 2006 Ridgeback. When I changed to Metzler it did the exact same thing...for what its worth.

Metz tires are a tad wider...................and ALOT better!!

I like the Metz also - rubbed for a little while - now all is well & will stay with them..
