OK, just a little update to close this thread properly. I just got my first decent ride in yesterday after the installation of the Progressive 422's. I purposely rode on familiar roads that I knew had some rough surfaces, expansion bumps, etc. These new shocks, set up properly, ate the bumps right up. I even found myself reflexively tensing up a little when the forks hit some of the worst ones, expecting the usual hard slap that used to come when the rear tire hit whatever the front just ran over, and was pleasantly surprised to discover myself thinking " shit, that wasn't so bad after all". Best of all, I found myself becoming a little more relaxed and ENJOYED THE RIDE MORE. If any of you folks are thinking that it may be time to invest in some new shocks, quit thinking about it and just do it. My bike is heavily modified, and, with the exception of the re-wire job, this may be my favorite mod. Thanks again to all who helped me pull the trigger on this.
