Rear suspension upgrade?

While I have my bike apart, I may want to upgrade the rear shocks. Any suggestions? I don't think I want to do an air ride.

Send your shocks back to Works Performance and have them revalved to your specs. I think it's about $125.

My dealer told me that the manufacturer that makes shocks for Big Dog also makes those same shocks in adjustable models.

It's up to you, but I would ask your BDM dealer if you can get adjustable shocks to replace those.

Iron Lightning (Matt) in Tulsa is who told me this. (I have a Mastiff, but it would be logical that you can get adjustables on your model)

Hold on, hold on. I was told that the 04 choppers came with adjustable shocks. Hmmmm! I know that my 03 chopper didn’t. I bottom out all the time. But then again I do weigh 210. Anyway BDM dose make adjustable shocks for your 04 chopper if you wanted to go that route.

BDM didn't start using adjustable shocks till 06. Adjustment is only in ride height not firmness.

I you want adjustment on ride quality then you need to have air shocks. Or as I posted earlier send you shocks back to Works Performance and have them re-valved to your ride requirments. This is by far the less expensive route.

If you buy the shocks that marv has then ride firmness and length can be adjusted without going to an air shock. Progressive or ohlins may make some as well.
